Police III Massivi beats Holland journalist and friend of Georgia for two and a half hour

10 december 2010

Dear Sandra,

In this kind of Police Car from III Massiv I was kept for two and a half hours, in the early morning of 4 October, in the backseat of the car. There sitting in the backseat with my hands on my back with metal bracelets I was beaten on my face and head, on my back and on my cheast many times.

Also the Police, all dressed in Geogian Police Uniforms, put burning sigaretts on my ears and were using some kind of needle to terorise me. The Police spit on my head also and were inquiring about the relation with my Georgian girlfriend.

Every time a car passed by, my head was pushed more forward so nobody in the passing car could see me. A few times I shouted Misverlet - help in Georgian - from the window, but when I did this, I was more beaten by your Georgian Police.

After two and a half hour I was finally able to stretch my legs a bit because I asked to have a toilet break.

I remember Rustavi 2 TV journalist came by and made a small interview with me. I also hear later that the owner of the Cafe that I rented was interviewed about me by Rustavi.

After 3 hours I was driven to an official buro where I was shortly questioned by a girl, an apprentice, stagiair we say in Dutch, who spoke little German.

I decided to say not to much to her, I showed her by taking of my shirt where I was beaten by the Police and when the Police Officers that beat me saw this, they got angry because I was little undressing myself to show my damages.

At about 5 o clock I was released from this official buro, totally in shock what was done to be by the Georgian Police.

I took outside a taxi to Metechi Palace where I dronk with the taxi driver Jacobs Coffee from Bremen...

http://www.ditisdenhaag.nl/

This beautifull foto is taken by Martijn from http://www.ditisdenhaag.nl/ on the 3d of december and published at 6 december. Martijn photographed me on 3 december in Den Haag, around luchtime, next to the Hofvijver, the lake next to our beautiful Parliament, and the fish shop Buitenhof, where I was eating kibbeling, very nice hot pieces of fish, with Buitenhof sauce.

Here on this picture you can see me on my - bicycle - way to the Georgian Embassy on the Groot Hertogginnelaan close to the Russian Embassy, to meet Georgian embassador Shota Gvineria.

In my Holland Action bag, that was in Tbilisi during the World Championship Soccer in South-Africa, I brought a real Langedijk cabbage from farmer Gerard Kamper from the Swaan in Zuid-Scharwoude. I have presented this cabbage as a symbol of the village Langedijk, that has so much agricultural experiences and contacts, useful for Georgia. Please ask Marina Todua how to cook this cabbage, batono Shota. I bring for her two cabbages that were on my boat during sail Amsterdam. She can cook it so nice...

The bicycle and wooden shoes are 100 % Dutch culture. The red and black, now I would say kvanchkara wine colour (Kvanchkara is wine from Racha area, one of the best red wines of Georgia) scarve i wear around my neck is more than 25 years old and was handmade by Nanda Vlam from Warmenhuizen, my first love when I was 20 years young.
In Warmenhuizen you find also Bejo company, see www.bejo.com

On my head I wear a typical handmade Georgian hat, that I bought on Rustaveli avenue, close to Rustaveli metro and the building of the Academy of Sciences where Michael Saakasvili went voting on 4th of january 2004.

The Georgian flag coming out of my bag is the flag that I have shown at Sail Amsterdam in august. The flag was recognised by our future King, Prins Willem-Alexander, when I was passing the beautiful yacht of his mother, Queen Beatrix, the Groene Dreack, the Green Dragon, where Willem-Alexander was enjoying the passing boats.

Prince Willem-Alexander is what we call in Dutch de beschermheer of Sail Amsterdam, the official protector. I drunk with our future King on the 27th of august at around 11.00 clock in the morning three glasses of Shtandart Vodka in the captains hut of the Shtandart, the replica of the flagship of Peter the Great, built in Saint-Petersburg in the period 1995-2000.

The woolen sweater I wear, you can see little bit coming out of my coat, is handmade in Georgia from Georgian sheep. Marina Todua organised it for me in 2005. The sweater was made by two woman in Varketili. It keeps me warm in the strong Holland winter now. But also when i went skiing in Bakurianai and Gudauri in Georgia...

The green coat I wear is a a coat from Lithuania that was presented to me by Egidijus and Geidre, who live in Lithuania and who are friends from Aida Kleivaite, the mother of my son Nidas, who is from Kleipeda, the port city of Lithuania.

On the back site of the coat is the name Dolena, it is the company where Egidijus works. Dolena builds very nice wooden log houses and exports them to countries in Scandinavia and Germany also. See www.dolena.lt .

So on the photo you see a world citizen from the global village Langedijk, dressed with Holland, Lithuanian and Georgian things.

Also watch his damaged glasses. He was beaten three times in one week in Tbilisi, Georgia, one time severely for more than two hours by III Massivi Police in police uniforms, and mr Brandsma is asking his Dutch Embassy in Tbilisi for help to officially do something about this Police Attack on an honest citizen from the Netherlands, friend of Georgia since january 1998.

No communication from Tbilisi Court to the verdict the deported Marcel Maria Brandsma

This is - picture down - how the Iveria Hotel opposite Rustaveli metro looked like when I saw it first time, in january 1998.

But also when I came to Tbilisi in january 2004, Iveria Hotel was still full with refugees from Abchazia...

But renovations started when Michael Saakasvili became President and in september 2009 Michael Saakasvili reopened the newly renovated hotel. I was there also, on the official opening day, to see a beautiful fireworks during the opening night.

I had a tour at the Hotel and the view from the top floor, where there is a bar called Oxygen bar, and a swimming pool, is fabulous.

My first drink in the Surface bar was off course a Saperavi Wine and a Borjomi Mineral Water and I will give Zviad Cruise, the food and beverage manager only a tip if I can drink also an Amstel beer in his Oxygen bar.

If the First Lady from Georgia is Dutch, Amstel Beer from Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, should be in the bar with the most beautiful view in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia.

From the moment the hotel is open I have been visiting the Oxygen Bar frequently to enjoy the views of the city. You feel like being the captain of Tbilisi in the captains hut... my nautical brains whisper me.

When the hotel was opened in september, some expat whispered somewhere on Rustaveli in my ears... Again an empty hotel, that will be the fourth five star hotel that is going to be empty in Tbilisi. He mentioned the Metechi Palace, the Old Mariotti and Mariotti Courtyard, all most of the time empty hotels after Georgia had a war with Russia.

From the Oxygen bar of the Radisson you can see down the Kempinsky Hotel, that needed an investment of 150 million dollars. This decission was made in january 2008, I met the English adviser of the decission makers in the Courtyard Mariotti.

The renovation of Kempinsky has stopped in 2009 because of the financial crisis worldwide and due of the war between Georgia and Russia with a big decline in investors, coming to Tbilisi...

Dear Sandra,

Georgian Law does not allow me to travel to Tbilisi to do my own defense in the Tbilisi Court. This was said by Embassador Shota Gvineria, who I met last week in the Embassy of the Hague. I hope I get a positive answer on the letter that I wrote to your husband in which I asked to do my own defense in Tbilisi during my appeal ?

It has been postponed again and now it is on your birthday, Sandra, the 23th of December, and how nice it would be that I can come again normal to your second country, the country of your husband Misha, from the day that you turn 42 ?

You will have a bussy birthday week that week. First it is your second son Nikoesja, who celebrates his 5th birthday on the 19th of december. I got from you a birthday card when he was born in december 2005. Then on the 21th december it is Mishas birthday. And on the 23th december it is your birthday !

And the day of my appeal in Tbilisi court..

From my Dutch embassy in Tbilisi I was previously informed that on thursday 9 december my appeal against my deportation will be discussed, starting 4 pm.

I have not been informed by the Georgian Government about this, nor my representative Zaza Maisuradze, so I have written the following email to z.bokhua at court.ge and I hope this person understands english and answers my mail asap.

The mail has the same content like all the other mails I have sent. The fact that there is no communication at all from the Tbilisi Court or the Legal Aid Service to me or my representative Zaza Maisuradze. To be continued ...

Dear Batono Bokhua,

Do you speak English ?

I am the person from Holland who was deported from your country on the 26th of oCtober. I think I am the first Dutch Person in Georgian history who was deported from Sakartvelo ?

I have not received any information about my appeal after my court case on 26 of October until tuesday 30 november at 6 pm.

It was my friend Zaza Maisuradze, who I have authorised to deal with all my affairs through an official notar document, who informed me about my court case, that should take place at 2 december at 2 pm.

But this session was cancelled because I was not officially informed, confirmed by my Holland Embassy behind Metechi Palace. The Dutch Embassy sent me a document much too late !

Now I hear that the session is taking place on the 9th of december at 4 pm.

Well, this information has not reached me or my representative Zaza Maisuradze officially through a mail of your Tbilisi Court.

How can I prepare myself for this case if I do not know when it is ?

I want to ask you to again cancel the court case from 9 december, because the advocat that I was given from the Legal Aid Service, Mamuka Basilashvili, has not made any contact with me or with my friend Zaza Maisuradze since I was deported.

All he has done was write a letter to your court that I want go against the decission of the 26th of october.

Well, this was something, Zaza Maisuradze could also have done. From the Legal Aid Service advocat the aid was minimum. And I expect maximum.

So my questions to you are the following:

1) Can you cancel again the court case of 9 december ? Because officially I or my representative Zaza Maisuradze are not informed until now !

2) Can you tell me how much time the court of Tbilisi gives for persons to prepare themselves for the court case, when the announcement for the court case is made ?

3) When the court case is cancelled again, can you inform me as soon as possible when will be the next date ? And not like now and last week, that we have to find out ourselves ?
My contact details are in Holland toidverdroif@quicknet.nl for email and my phone is + 31 6 19 78 69 97

My contactperson in Tbilisi is Zaza Maisuradze, tel 8 99 270 870.

Looking forward to hear from you soon,

Marcel Maria Brandsma

Well, Sandra, the result is now, because of my letters, that the appeal is postponed until the day of your birthday, the 23d of december, at 2 pm. At the time that you are serving maybe zelfgemaakte lekkere Hollandse appeltaart - homemade tasty Dutch apple pie - to your guests on the menu of the Tbilisi Court is my appeal.

I hope I have enough time to organise all the necessary documents. This is very difficult because of the language barriers, the 5000 km distance, the cultural differences and my minimum financial situation.

Special Request to the President of Georgia

David the Builder, a statue of one of Georgias most famous Kings. The statue is placed along the highway to Mscheta, the old capital, and to Gori, the city where Stalin was born.
Marcel Brandsma in a flower shop in Saburtalo, just around the corner from the house of Giorgi Baindurashvili. The lillies that you see on the photo are coming from Tsavkisi, where Eldari Baidashvili grew them out of bulbs from VWS Flowerbulbs from Broek op Langedijk. The foto is made by Afto, a stylist who was working before in the Vaxi shop in Nikoladze in Perovskaya.
The bulbs were brought to Tbilisi by Marcel Maria Brandsmas indmezarme. In 2008 Marcel Brandsma drove from Langedijk together with Marina Todua from III Massivi a VW Transporter more than 5000 km to Tbilisi with in the minibus about ten thousand pieces of lilia bulbs.

Dear Sandra,

Today, friday 3 december, I have a meeting with your Ambassador in The Hague. This text that follows first is in Dutch and I have added it to this letter, because you say you will do your best to help your ambassador Shota with action and advise.

You are right, once I had felt the Georgian cultural showers, it does not leave me anymore. All my eyes and ears are focussed on you, because you promissed to be the eyes and the ears of the President on your first Pirveli Kali First Lady Morning at 4 am, 5 january 2004, in the Metechi Palace.

I have written a letter for the President that I will deliver today at 4 pm at your Ambassador in The Hague. I wonder if I get an answer and also how quickly.

This is from the side of the Embassy of Georgia in the Netherlands.

Onze website is vernieuwd!

Sandra Elisabeth Roelofs
First Lady van Georgiƫ.

And this is the letter I have given to your Ambassador Shota.

I am a person who went to Georgia many times, started to do business there, learned the alfabet and the language and some songs, Zuliko and Tbiliso, enjoyed my times in Georgia very much but also got in many troubles and therefore I hope you can help me with solving some of the problems I encountered, Sandra.

To the President of Sakartvelo, Michael Saakasvili

The Hague, The Netherlands, 3 december 2010

Dear President of Georgia,

I had the unexpected "pleasure" to be deported from your lamazi Sakartvelo on the 26 th of october. I guess I am the Pirveli Dutchman who is deported from the capital of the Caucasus ?

Ofcourse I want have a process against this unfair decission, that felt like an attack, a robbery, an O V E R V A L your wife Sandra would say.

The first court case with my appeal was yesterday, 2 december 2010, 2 pm Tbilisi Court Time.

But it was cancelled because I was not informed about the Process.

A new process will be, if I am well informed, coming thursday 9 december 2010 in Tbilisi Court.

I would like to ask the Permission of the President of Sakartvelo, to defend myself in this court case, to come to Tbilisi as soon as possible, so I can prepare myself for this important court case, not only for me, but for the reputation of Georgias Justice in the Netherlands.

Please answer my question as soon as possible. I know you are very bussy, but maybe your wife Sandra is this weekend in Holland to celebrate "Sinterklaas" and I can fly with her on monday back to your beautiful country with bevri problems ?

Marcel Maria Brandsma

Note on 10 december

As you can read in my other letter to Sandra, the court has postponed my case until your birthday, the 23 th of december, so there is plenty of time for the staff of the President of Georgia to answer my letter... and hopefully I get a positive answer !

letter to the Judge about my deportation decision

Marcel Brandsma in Moscow, in december 2002, visiting the Georgian consulate to get a visa to travel to Georgia. Mr Brandsma also went to the Georgian Embassy in Moscow to meet up with Teimuraz Gamtsemlidze, second man of Georgia in Moscow during Shevardnadze time.

Mr Brandsma met mr Gamtsemlidze before in Brussels and Alkmaar, but also already in 1999 in Airport Wassenaar near The Hague, when President Shevardnadze landed there for an official meeting with Queen Beatrix. Mr Brandsma put the model of the Solar Village of Aspindza back under the presidential plane...when it was exposed in Sustain 1999, worlds biggest renewable energy conference in RAI Amsterdam.

This photo is a historical picture, because nowadays you can travel to Georgia without visa, so no more visits to consulates anymore. Marcel Brandsma paid in spring 2004 in Brussels more than 200 euros for a multivisa for Georgia for one year. A few months later Misha decided that all EU-visitors could enter Georgia without applying for visa anymore...

Thursday 2 december 2010, 13.13 hours Holland Time

Dear Sandra,

In Tbilisi there is plenty of nice weather, but Holland is covered under a white blanket of snow and winter is everywhere with temperatures much below zero Celsius. It is cold in my caravan, but I survive.

Maybe you fly this weekend to Holland, because of Sinterklaas ? I can imagine you want be with your parents in Zeeland with your youngest son Nikoesja, who will be turning five soon and who still believes that Sinterklaas is a reality ? He is named after Nicholoz, it sounds almost the same like Nikolaas.

I also can imagine you want show your children as much as possible our beautifull cultural things in Holland, far away from the daily troubles in Sakartvelo.

Definitely, Sinterklaas is one of the most important cultural features of the Netherlands that brings us in the art of poetry and creating surprises !!!

In Sakartvelo you are Pirveli Kali all the time, but I can imagine in Holland and Zeeland you still have the opportunity to be a simple mother of two lovely children and whose husband is much abroad for business ?

Or are you also recognised everywhere, nowadays in Zeeland ?

Have you already received my letter that I sent to your parents about cooperation for Asatiani ?

When you see Misha, can you tell Misha about what has happened to me this week ?

All details you find in my letter that I have send to my tardjimani Zaza Maisuradze by email. And that I have put below here also.

I wanted Zaza to read this letter in court today, but just before the court started the court case was cancelled until next week.

To the Judge of Tbilisi Court
that decides today about my appeal
against the decission of the Court about my deportation from Sakartvelo on 26th of October 2010

Langedijk, kapusta ostrov, 2 december 2010

Dear Judge,

First I want to say that I was only informed about this court case on 2 december at 14.00 hours on tuesdaynight 30 november at 19.30 hours.

Zaza Maisuradze gave me the information by telefone. Zaza Maisuradze is my contactperson that I have authorised to deal with my legal affairs through a notarial contract.

I was given an advocat from the Legal Aid Service from the Ministry of Corrections and Legal Assistance of Georgia, Mamuka Basilashvili on 26 th of October 2010.

I have asked Mamuka Basilashvili to keep in contact with me and my authorised person Zaza Maisuradze when I was deported.

But until now, there was never any contact between this advocate and me or Zaza Maisuradze.

It was the initiative of Zaza Maisuradze to hear about this court case.

Since what day my advocat Mamuka Basilashvili knows I have this court case and why he has not contacted me or Zaza Maisuradze immediately ?

If Zaza Maisuradze had no contact with him by telefone on 30 november, we dont even know this important court meeting was going to take place on 2 december at 14.00 hours.

Only today, wednesday 1 december, my contactperson Zaza Maisuradze got all the documents from Mamuka Basilashvili so Zaza Maisuradze started to translate the nine pages.

The translation is not ready and I have seen nothing of it when I started to make this document.

But it is the procedure I like to question, judge.

How can we seriously defend my case if we dont get the announcement and all documents on time ?

One day is not enough to prepare myself together with my advocat and together with my contactperson Zaza Maisuradze.

So I would like to ask you judge, to cancel the court meeting and postpone it until we have found time enough to prepare ourselves and discuss our strategy. Your country must have time limits for this also.

This is normal in my country.

How can my advocat Mamuka Basilashvili defend my rights if I do not know there is a court case and if there has been no contact between my advocat and me since my deportation night at 26 october ?

So please give us the normal opportunity to prepare ourselves for this important appeal.

Please judge, can you postpone the court case ?

This is my question to you.

If Sakartvelo wants to be part of the EU and work according to EU rules my court case has to be postponed. I hope the court of Tbilsi agrees with this and my court case will be cancelled and postponed.

I am looking forward to hear from Tbilisi soon.

With kind regards,
from the Netherlands below sealevel, with a lot of snow and ice, it is winter here,

Marcel Maria Brandsma

Post Script

I sent this letter at aboout 10 O clock Holland time or 12 O clock Georgian time to Zaza Maisuradze in Tbilisi.

I called at 10 minutes to two O clock Georgian Time, just before the process was about to start and then Zaza gave me the message that the court case was cancelled until next week, the 9th of december.

I think I should be in this court case personally, so tomorrow, when I am in a meeting with the ambassador of Georgia in the Netherlands I will ask him to organise this for me.

I dont think that Airzena planes are full every day so I could leave on wednesday 8 december and be back on saturday 10 december. So I also have a chance to pick up my personal belongings when I was deported without previous notice, a robbery, we call this in Holland !!!!

Tulip bulbs waiting and letter to Ambassador Shota Gvineria in the Hague

4 january 2004, Tbilisi, Rustaveli. Waiting outside the State Academy of Sciences Building for Michael Saakasvili, candidate to be third President of Georgia. Next to Marcel are Nugzar Meladze jr and sr, mze-energy specialists from Bagtrioni street, Saburtalo.

Dear Sandra,

On the website of the Georgian Embassy in our beautifull Den Haag, the Netherlands, home of our Royal Family and home of our Parliament and Minitries, I saw your photo and your introduction.

I like to have a meeting with your Georgian highest representative in the Netherlands and for this I wrote already two letters. Here is the second one. So you have an idea, what I wrote to him. Coming friday, 3 december, I have a meeting in the Embassy with Embassador Shota Gvineria in The Hague.

Broek op Langedijk, 25 november 2010

Dear Embassador Shota Gvinera,

How are y in bussy The Hague, just after Misha has visited Brussels and NATO meeting ...

In 2003 at this time acting president Burdjanadze was getting ready to fly to Maastricht OSCE meeting to collect puli for Mishas first election day on 4 jan 2004.

I was in Maastricht during this OSCE meeting and made fotos for your government because there was no photographers coming with the media from MZE, Rustavi 2, Pirveli, etc.

Nino Burdjanadze was very happy with the photos that were given to her by Harry Molenaar, our first Dutch embassador in Tbilisi.

On the photo you can see me when I was waiting for Misha outside the State Academy Building close to Rustaveli metro and Rustaveli statue and Philharmonia where Misha went voting 4 january 2004. I gave him some pictures when he entered. Pictures that I took of Burdjanadze with Jaap de Hoop Scheffer and Colin Powell, people y know off course....

I have sent you a letter at the beginning of november to have a meeting with you.

Until now no answer. I have called to your embassy and spoke with Eka. And I asked her to call me back so we can have a meeting.

But also no answer.

Last monday on Saint George Day I was again at your embassy but you was not there and the embassy was closed because of Georgian national holiday.

I have left for you traditional Langedijk kapusta ostrov boerekool from Peter Vroegop, farmer in my lovely city. To remember also the seventh - swidi - anniversary of the Rose Revolution Day, 23 november 2003.

Please check www.bejo.com if you have no idea what kind of cabbage it is.

Or ask Robert Revia, director of Bejo representative office in Tbilisi since 1998, when Mamaladze got for 200.000 US dollars tesli from Bejo after he visited Langedijk through my mediation.

You can also ask Vano and Dato Eloshvili from III Massiv, Shilda, about this cabbage, they helped Peter planting it when they were in Langedijk in summertime in 2007.

I have given some photos to you together with the boerekool where you can see them when they were my matros during Sail Amsterdam in august.

Oosterdel Boerekool taste best with Kvareli wine from Chavchavadzes winecellar but ofcourse wine from www.ktw.ge is also not bad at all.

Please let me know when you have time to meet me somewhere between Texel and Rotterdam. I am willing to come to you, knowing that you are very bussy representing Sakartvelo in our lovely Holland that has everything Georgia needs !

On the other photo you can see Marine Todua that I met on the 5 th of january and who helped me promoting Georgia in Holland in many ways. I have for Georgia a few thousand Holland tulip bulbs that have to be planted soon in Tbilisi before the winter starts.

A nice project we could do together with the Young Georgians who want to learn more about growing flowers in your very good mitsa everywhere in lamazia Sakartvelo.

Eg in the Botanical Garden in Ortachala but also on Rustaveli or where is the statue of David Tetri the Builder close to Tegeta motors head office ...

For this bulbs it is now or never, our dutch bulbs have no Georgian time, they need to be in the ground asap...

Letter to the Ombudsman Giorgi Tugushi

On this foto you can see Shuamta street from Corpus 15, from the house of Marine Todua, number 38. The tree on the left is covering the Populi Supermarket and right under this tree I was beaten first when I left the Populi Supermarket on 4 October.

On the right you can see the place that I rented to make it into the First Holland Cafe Bar Toidverdroif. Behind and close to this cafe I was kept in the back of a III Massiv Police Car Skoda for more than two and a half hours and I was beaten in the back of the car by Police in Police Uniforms.

The III Massivi Police beat me on my head, on my back and on my breast. The III Massivi Police spit on my face and put burning sigarettes on my ears.

Around my wrists weremetal bracelets and every time I was shouting Misverlet - it means help in Georgian - out of the windows from the Police car, the Police punished me more and pulled stronger these metal bracelets. Also when other cars where passing by, I was pushed with my head down, so nobody could see me in the Police car.

Only after two and a half hours Police gave me a moment to stretch my legs and do a toilet break.

Unbelievable this happened in an area where I live already four years and where I have invested a lot of money and where many neighbours became my friends...

Also unbelievable that my Holland embassy does nothing with this information !!!

Dear Sandra,

I hope you are enjoying all the CDs that were presented to your classical radio station ?

I was not contacted by anybody about Asatiani but I wish, it is getting Sinterklaas 5 december 2010, that improving Asatiani to European 21th century standards is on the Sakartvelo Priority list. And you know, I have all the contacts here in Alkmaar area, but with a letter of intention and signed by Misha, your husband, we can catalyse the cooperation here. It is all in your hands, Sandra....

But this is the letter to Mishas O M B U D S M A N

Langedijk, agricultural centre no 1 in the world, suitable for cooperation with Georgia, 11 november 2010

To the Ombudsman of Sakartvelo, Georgi Tugushi

Dear Batono Tugushi,

In the mail I have sent to many embassies and newspapers you can read what has happened to me in oktober 2010.

I am journalist and was in Tbilisi at 4 jan 2004 (Misha 90 %), 7 nov 2007, 5 jan 2008 (Gachechiladze 25 %), april 2009 - celli terapi - till Baiden came, 12 august 2009 (Gori-Storymans 1 year), 12 august 2010 (2 years Storimans).I was in summer many times on TV because I also visited the Philharmonia during the World Soccer Championship and as you know, Holland reached the final.

Besides journalist for the Daily invisible newspaper from Julius Vischjager and his weekly radioprogramm Hoe bedoel U ? Radio Salto Amsterdam I am also business man in Sakartvelo and director of Sakartvelo Au Pair Georgia (sjepeze since august 2010) and Intmedzarme MMB, involved in agricultural and hospitality business but also promoting and exporting Georgian products to Europe.

I was president of the Holland-Georgia foundation from march 1998 (I founded it) till december 2009.

Sandra, your pirveli kali, came on my invitation to www.geelvinck.com on 13 march 2005 to give two lectures about her book for 250 Georgian-Dutch diaspora type of guests. Sandras parents and son Eduard was there also. She sold 170 copies and wrote in the guestbook of owner Jurn Buisman: "Thanks for the perfect organisation."

I try to figure out why Georgia has brought me to court in october ?
There is a gossip that I am Russian spy because I have good contacts with Kaha Imnadze, who worked for Shevarnadze as his spokesman for press.

Maybe my embassy has asked to get me out of your country ?

I was surprised by the attack that was made at me on 26 october and I am still thinking of the horrible treatment your III Masasivi Patruli - police gave me on mondaymorning 4 october between 00.13 hours and roughly till 04.00 hours.

You can read about this on my blogs.

I must report to your police - according to Julius Vischjager, a special journalist in our Holland parliament democracy, all politicians and miniters and pirveli ministers know whgo he is - that I was mistreated severely by your police but since this night I have no faith anymore in the Georgian police and Ministry of Justice.

Therefore I address to the Ombudsman of Georgia.

I would be very happy if you could invite me to come to Tbilisi to explain you personally what has happened with me in III Massiv and Asatiani.

In Holland there is proverb in the Alkmaar Arveladze - Van Gaal AZ championtown - court.

Alterem Partem Audiet. It is Latin and it means, the judge shall hear the other party.
Your court has brought many evidences together that were not translated for me.

There was an advocat, but there was no time to sit down and see all the documents from both the Policer and Asatiani. And understand why there was so much witnesses in Populi against me

Strange for me because in Sakartvelo is Georgian Time...

It felt like an overval - a robbery - of my freedom in a country that I respect so much, but that has thrown me out without giving me the opportunity to tell my side of the story.

I think it is important for your country that my case is being analysed and discussed like the change of the constitution.
Looking forward for your invitation to meet you in person in lamazi Tbilisi,

Ofcourse you are also welcome to fly to Holland ! On your own costs but there is always a cup of coffee here, that is our hospitality, but if you bring 20 kilos Georgian culture (wine, brandy, sigarettes, borjomi, targuna, likani, kazbegi, shoti, etc) I bring you everywhere you want including Texel and the Beatles Museum in Alkmaar, where Sandra was with Eduard a few years ago

Deported out of Tbilisi !

Marcel at the big roundabout in Tbilisi. Nowadays the square is completely changed and in the middle of the square are built new roads and flyovers for the ever increasing traffic in Tbilisi, but in the summer of 2009, when this picture was taken, Marcel found the heart of this square a good place to plant flower bulbs, eg tulips, from Holland.

Dear Sandra,

How are y ? I have been officially thrown out of Sakartvelo on tuesday 26 october !

Before I was taken to Tbilisi court, totally unexpected and totally as surprise, I was captured in Asatiani for more than three weeks.

It is time you visit this place Asatiani, that urgently needs modernisation !

Your Psychiatrists and nurses are definately not ready to treat all the foreign tourists that get into psychiatric problems because of the culture shocks they will experience in the beautiful Georgia !

I have not noticed any significant changes since april 2009, when I was locked up the first time in Hotel Asatiani for "only ten days".

The only mayor change I discovered was the establishment of a special smoking room.

It is getting cold now in Hotel Asatiani.

I got tired from the tetri spagetti and the tetri caviar.

Tell Misha to bring bevri Borjomi and Likani and Kazbegi fruit waters to Asatiani.

Tell Misha to send an undercover patient to discover what the staff of Asatiani is doing to make the patients better !

It was disgusting what I saw. No respect for the psychiatric conditions and no listening to the wishes of the patients.

No, I saw and was treated myself with very much agression, both physically and verbally and the only help I saw was the use of samlebi, medizin from the Farmaceutical Maffia.

Send Pirveli Nursi Inga, Pirveli psychiater Roman, my psychiatrist Chatuna, patient Levani and sanitary Vachtang, Jimmy and Giorgi to Heiloo, Holland and I will show them how Holland deals with psychiatric patients anno 2010.

They will be in shock !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been deported from Georgia and was transferred on a voluntary base to the Willibrodus Psychiatric clinic here, where my father was also many times.

It felt like coming back in Paradise after the Hell of Hotel Asatiani.

Please go there with Gigi Ugulava and make it priority number one to keep Asatiani at the same place. Block the selling of this unique place and renovate it the way Willibrodus has developed the last decades !

I have asked Mr Hugo Koetsier, geneesheer-directeur or General Director to cooperate with Asatiani already one year ago.

But it makes more inpression if Misha writes a letter and let me deliver it together with the best Georgian medizins against depression, Georgian wines and mineral waters and the targuna and other Kazbegi fruit drinks.

Heiloo is only 5 km from Alkmaar, Sandra, where you was with Eduard to visit the Beatles Museum. I spoke with the assistant of Topadze in Kazbegi office and they offered me to use Kazbegi distribution to distribute the in Holland very famous Texel beer, with on the bottle the Lighthouse where Georgian soldiers were having the last battles in april 1945.

Nice offer from Topadze. I think Texel is the place to open the Georgian restaurant where Germans, Dutch and Texel people can enjoy the Georgian food.

I hope Shevarnadze comes to Texel before he dies.

Lets organise every year on Texel the Texel cup, a soccer tournament with participants from Georgia, Russia, Holland and Germany.

I got this idea in Asatiani when I spoke with Giorgi, who loves soccer and who lives in Saburtalo, close to Shota Arveladze.

The tournament can be organised every summer to remember the tragedy of april-may 1945.

But also it can be a good idea, Sandra, to organise such tournament in Tbilisi. Eg in the play court in III Massivi, but also in the stadium of Dynamo Tbilisi.

Georgians love soccer and it is time they join the European and World Championships.

Sandra, ask Shota Arveladze to bring Louis van Gaal and ask Prime Minister Rutte to send Guus Hiddink to Tbilisi and Dick Advocaat.

Or Bert van Marwijk ? When I was small he played left forward at Alkmaars AZ.

Sandra, you are from Zeeuws Vlaanderen and I was happy to see you in Philharmonia in july.

Did you think of me when y put on your Roelofs 1 maika ?

Come with Misha to Alkmaar again, visit Heiloo and send a good representative from your embassy in the Hague to me to see where on Texel and in Alkmaar-Langedijk we could open a small Georgian restaurant.

I will call to your Hague embassy on monday to have a meeting with Shota, the ambassador that you have appointed recently.

Today in the Telegraaf I read there was a Georgian wine presentation in the Embassy. Ofcourse, there is more good places to organise degustation.

I know the Alkmaar area on my thumb, I can find a location for free and dont worry about publicity costs, I am expert in FREE PUBLICITY.

I have lots of time now, because for one year I am not welcome anymore in Sakartvelo.

Julius thought I was kicked out officially this week because your security thinks I am a spy of Russia.

I am agent trinadz-trinadz. 1313. From the Langedijk KGB, Kapusta Group Broek op Langedijk.

I am the minister of Foreign Langedijk Affairs and I am not only friend of Georgia but also friend of Russia. Why ?

I will tell y when I am rehabilitated officially by a degree of the President of Georgia.

The Tbilisi court case was for me one big ABRACADABRA, an OVERVAL, a surprise, but I remember the translator Maia from our Embassy saying many times...

According to the Law of foreigners in Georgia .... You have done this and that and that is why you are going to be deported tonight....

I am very unhappy about this all because I have done for your country so much !!!!

Protest bij de Nederlandse ambassade and MMB brings new development in mutual cooperation between Georgia and Holland

Marcel visits the Rose Revolution consert in Rotterdam, De Doelen, organised by jemali Makaradze, in april 2004. here you can see him with his two invited friends from Tbilisi, Marina Todua, and Marina Jijiashvili, who plays violin in the Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra from Djachtang Khachidze. The two other persons are famous Georgian singers, one of them is David Gomarteli.

Lieve Sandra,

I got a mail today from Joop Daalmeijer about your CD project for your classical station. What do you think of the idea that the next project will be bringing here second hand bicycles from Holland ? Or is Keti Melua so popular that she will bring 2 million bicycles from Bejing ? Do you remember when you was in Amsterdam at Geelvinck on 13 march 2005 that I gave you also a CD from Keti Meluah that was sent to me by her manager ? At that time nobody knew Keti Meluah, but now she is famous everywhere ...

I will protest coming friday 1 October from 08.00 am till 12.00 noon to our Dutch embassy the Langedijk (my village where I invented many actions, started protestgroups and new political parties that became the biggest of my Langedijk very much, three times! - ) opposition way.

In dutch I already warned the Ambassador Langenberg, chief of the Holland-Caucasus countries. I go from Hollanduri Shuamta cafe Toidverdroifi to Metechi Palace on my Gazelle bicycle. And I take my orange chair, a present from House of Orange www.house-o-orange.nl Au Pair IAPA director Ellen in Den Haag. Because I was not allowed to sit in the gras, a chair will do better in the royal stapilosperi ?

Can you ask Misha if he can block the Bush highway like he does always when he goes or leaves from the airport ? I like that all the police patruli on the way see me going, protect me and encourage me.

If I fix it I will also take an Amstel umbrella that I got via CEO JeanFrancois van Boxmeer, CEO of Heineken, who I met at the yearly Heineken shareholders meeting in 2002. At that time he was - being Belgium - responsible for the special beers and he got the idea to buy Botcharev brewery in Peterburg. He has been to Tbilisi also.

Amstel is available now here in Tbilisi in Amstel CANS AND BOTTLES and I have three AMSTEL umbrellas taken in my caravan all the way from Alkmaar. Thanks Habbo de Vaere !

It can be hot and sunny in de North shadow of Metechi Palace at our entry from Embassy. Do you know that there were plans to build a solar embassy in Tbilisi in 1999 ? ECN, the netherlands Energy Research Centre in Petten looked at it, as an idea for the Georgian Solar Laboratory, you can ask Nugzar Meladze.

Would you think it is possible to plant there some flowerbulbs, eg the Prince Claus orange ones that I brought to your mother in law in 2004 ?

I still have no idea where they went, but Mishas mothers chocolate cake was unforgettable ! But they are lovely and Prins Claus baptised them. Do you come to baptise them with Sameba water if they are as beautiful orange as the onces I saw on the photo in the house of the family Koedijk on the Dijkstal road in Sint-Pancras, mesobeli of Alkmaar ?

The Koedijk Ojachi - family - developed also the yellow King Bumibol tulip for Thailand, because their sun married a Thai gogo - girl. He made a very nice DVD how they met and I cried from admirement when I saw this excellent DVD.

Maybe they can make a Saakasvili or Roelofs tulip ? I was so stupid to forget to invite the family Koedijk to come to Amsterdam to sit on the first row when you gave two lectures on 13 march 2005. But I gave the family Koedijk a copy of your signed book.

On my way to the MP ... I hope soon Sakartvelo patrouilli will get also mountain bicycles like the Holland police.

If your Misha promotes tourism,me coming from Holland, I think within a split second of bicycles. But here the bicylces are not. Maybe eti ori. Why, Misha ? You did not see the Dutch bikes at the Winter Olympics of Vancouver ?

Kethy Melua sings about two million bicycles in Bejing, that is a fact. But Tbilisi fact is that there are ramdeni ?

And Misha loves so much to cycle in Holland with his ojachi...Sandra. Why you have not told him to make the new tetri MOUSTACHE bridge that connects Rike with Charden suitable for bicycles also ? Is it so quiet where you go cycling with Misha in Zeeuws Vlaanderen ? Have y tried this in de dunes of Schoorl-Bergen-Egmond close to Alkmaar ?

Your Misha and Gigi are bringing in a lot of asfalt, what about bicycle options ? In the summer everyone is in the village or at Batumi but in the rest of the year cycles can be used everywhere and to get uphill you give an unemployed street vendor 10 or 20 teri or you just walk. Here is all the time Georgian Time, so no hurry.

Talking about Georgian Time, how is the owner Malchaz of Georgian Times newspaper? Is he back already ? Or still in Moscow ? He seems like a nice guy, a bit like Willem Oltmans, enemy of the Dutch government - like me ? - who had friends at high places in unfriendly Dutch politics countries like our former Indonesia, after the Independence in 1949.

Every time, the same problems, but the Kavkas people are definitely more agressive and violent people, more than the rest of Europe. Because of their history and continuous struggles here. Kort lontje - heel kort, levensgevaarlijk - zouden wij in cool emotieloos vlak Holland zeggen. Ask the German Nazis, that survived the last battle on Texel Island what they thought of operation Djenrazdenia in april 1945 when all the island was almost cleared by Georgian soldiers.

A terrible tragedy for all parties, Misha. Dont be too heroic about it. The Texel people are still not forgetting what happened there and they have ambiguous feelings about the last fights in World War II
. No waste of bullets, only sharp knives and thats it.

I want Shevardnadze - last minister of Foreign Affairs of USSR - to go there,to Texel,, together with Rezo Amashukeli, miniter of Culture in the Shevardnadze Presidents time (Amashukeli is not so healthy for it, my friend Marine Todua told, Batono Rezo arginda does not want) and than he can die, we say first see Napels (in Italy) and than die, but my advise to Eduard Shevradnadze is, first visit Texel and than die !

Shevarnadze wanted it too, when Kaha Imnadze asked him this in 2003. But there are protocols and they tell that Holland had to invite him.

I brought my wooden shoes with in it a letter translated by my friend tardjimani Sveta Kniaskova in Moscow and a Dutch book - I want it back, it is from my private collection, dont keep it, batono Shevarnadze - to his Krtanisi residence on the night of may the fourth, the Holland war memorial day and was told that he was going in june to Berlin for a documentary about his life premiere. But he has not gone there yet.

Well from Berlin it is not so far flying to Texel Island, only 600 kilometer and there is an airport on this lovely island. Dont forget to take the best Georgian wine and cognac and exchange it for Texel wool and cheese and invite all tourists there to Georgia !

I think Shevradnadze is more clever in expressing his words than you did on the fourth of May 2005, Misha. Being foreign minister of USSR is just another piece of gatchapuri than being President of Georgia with faraway megobari warloving George Bush.

We say in Holland that it is better to have a good mesobeli than a faraway megobari ! here, too ?

Bush is from the type -- Just throw boms and the problems are solved ? No, they get worse !!! Sandra, you must translate the song of Boudewijn de Groot about Meneer de President in his tetri sachli in Georgian.

Misha, you think there are no Mother Georgia statue type of kali outside Tbilisi ? There are beveri and if you throw bombs, you get back a knife. a Russian one, that killed to many innocent people, including our Stan Storimans. Bombarding with I-pods and computers is better and dont forget CD-DVD players... ! I liked it in your UN speach.

Your country could be first where planes are throwing out communicating devices. Do this in Afganistan for a start. And send your lamazi gogos there and let them show Georgian culture in Afganistan and all Talibans will become Talidans. Mesobeli Putin will think, wow, that is tactica. Misha sprays love and culture and his wines that are stuck in the storages or transferred in more spirits. Well, let the Georgian culture be bombed in all Afganistan !!! What Obama will think about it ?

Sorry Sandra, I am anti violent and I let my heart speak.

I like Misha wants everywhere dance lessons on schools in Georgia. Your dancers are fantastic ! Young and old, fantastic. I visited the Evgeni Festival on the way to Lisi lake, what a fantastic atmosphere there was, but hardly any tourists from abroad.

I walked there on my wooden shoes. I am jalous at the dance capacities of your people, that is fore sure.

How long we must wait until on Rustaveli is a red dutch type of bicycle road ?

And how long we must wait for bicycle rent ? Last year I met from Green Movement from Vienna Chris and together with Malchaz from Georgian Green Movement we spoke about projects. One of them was cycling !

From every country bring some to Tbilisi.

Can I park my bike next to the EU flag at the Parliament ?

Yesterday I was not allowed to stand or sit there too closeby, again bevri Tsadi this week on tuesday and later this week I will park my bike there where is EU flag, just like all people do at the Binnenhof in Den Haag, business as usual.

But here it will be probably again T S A DI ! T S A DI ! Well, opposition said at the same place for months in 2007 and 2008 M I S H A T S A D I, but M I S H A stayed !

I will also start this week an association like I did in Holland, the Holland-Georgia foundation. It will be like www.bag.ge Hollanduri-Sakartvelo associatia. I will be President and it will be a Dutch style transparant democratic vereniging.

United we stand and party, kruisbestuiving van de culturen van twee kleine maar zeker niet onbelangrijke landjes aan de zee met de laagste below sealevel polders en de hoogste bergen van Europa. Van top tot teen.

Well, finishing with my last idea. When Rasmussen NATO boss is here ask him if Nato can fly Georgians who were kicked of the streets because they can not sell anymore there bananas, garagura, peanuts, sigarettes, clothes, on the ulidzes and metro entrances, like in my Varketili.

I wonder how many street vendors lost their jobs and how are they compensated ? I suggest a flight to Texel, or Berlin, or Brussels, with Nato fleet. Operation Toidverdroif - passtime - seems a nice name, isnt it ? I know how it is to live life in the poor areas. Not enough puli money for food ...... !

How nice it would be in Putin gives permission to fly over Russian territory ? I have dreams, who hasnt ? And why not start with hijacking a Nato helicoper in Georgia and fly to the Kremlin, like the two wing one engine airplane that landed on the Red Square of Moscow a long time ago ?

But ofcourse informing all the Russian anti gun equipment not to shoot this Don Quichote helicopter. I like to be a verstekeling- stowaway - on it because it is an historical unique flight !!!!

Ask all Nato citizens this and who will say no to it ? Nobody, because how nice it is to see peacefull flights in the sky while y are down on the ground, waving and wondering, where are they going to ?

After Red Square a stopover in Berlin and than seeing the Holland windmills and polders. Of course, throwing out many Georgian promotion and let Europe see how beautiful the Georgia culture is.

My motto was during my period as President of the Holland-Georgia Foundation... If you dont want to go to Georgia because you have no time than we bring Georgia to you ! We did it succesfully but hardly support from Georgian business and government.

Why you was not enthousiastic, Vachtang Chkheidze, councellor for Georgia in Holland and Belgium, when you visited the house of Buisman in 2004 ?

One year later I brought Sandra there, it was NOT Marechi Togonidze !

How long we must wait before these touristic tours can be done by Georgians ? Lets try it for one day, and let it start in Georgia. Where started so many things. NATO should be like the Vlootdagen in Den Helder. One or two days using the army and navy for peaceful use.

You think Putin will say no, if in the Nato helicopter are all children from Abchazia, Ossetia, Azeria, Armenia, Tsinvali, and all these other Caucasus peoples ?

Their parents and grandparents grew up with this way of traveling but that is not possible anymore, because two leaders can not cooperate ?

And communicate ?

Let the children be one day Presidents and the problems are solved for one day. And maybe forever ?

God wants this, but is patient enough to wait forever because he invented his own time, nowadays called Georgian time because Georgians came too late when God divided the earth. !

Are you still in New York, Misha ? Or you fly with Rasmussen together from Brussels ?

Tell it your UNESCO representative to spread this idea. Children dont like war, only the army toys !!!!! Big children also and they shot so many people death in the internet and games that they have no idea what damage happens when people really are killed !

Where can I shoot with a Kalasnikov here ? Or fly with an Antonov ?

I was lucky, I was never in the Army, I cannot handle this disciplin, I am a free bird, not a war robot !

I dont have the time to wait forever, God has, I am Dutch, time is money but I love my time in Georgia, but being Dutch, I have to get out for a while to really appreciate what I have, bringing back to your house all the good things that you saw on your travels and cleaning the garagura that you thought it was normal, you took it for granted, but being somewhere else you realise it is time to get rit of it and replace it by a better variant !

Sandra, I am curious what Misha will say tomorrow to Rasmussen. How is Jaap de Hoop Scheffer by the way ? Misha, do you remember I gave you photos that I took from Burdjanadze and Colin Powel with OSCE president good old Jaap de Hoop Scheffer ? I gave you them when you went voting in the Academy of Science next to Rustaveli metro on the 4th of janaury 2004.

Ciao, Marcel, the Flying Dutchman must get ready for ?

To be continued !

If it is impossible, just fly the USSR conflict zone children to your white house and show them lamazi Tbilisi, you will be making very many happy children and their parents too. What was the name again of this Operation ? Operation Toidverdroif !!!!

Go to langedijk, close to Alkmaar, and find out how you pronounce it. This funny everyhing covering word, tijdverdrijf, toidverdroif !

Tbilisi - Holland blues

Toidverdroif with capitan Marcel on the Northsea canal, 18 august 2010. On board are matros Vano and Dato Eloshvili from III Massiv, Tbilisi. Cargo is Langedijk cabbage from Jan and Bertus Bruin. The cabbage is grown from Bejo seeds with the name Eton. The flag of Toidverdroif is this time from Caucasus Georgia. In 2005 Toidverdroif brought Lithuania ship called Sud 1 from Nida, Klaipeda to Sail Amsterdam. And in 2000 thanks to Toidverdroif the replica of Shtandart, flagship of Peter the Great from Peterburg, Russia, came on time for Sail Amsterdam 2000 !

Pathefoon Dirk with Holland bakfiets transport bycycle and Nidas and Marina on the way to Vomar supermarket in Langedijk near Alkmaar to buy food to make georgian supra for megobari (friends), mesobelli (neighbours) and ojachi (family) summer 2006

Dear Sandra,

How was your holidays ? Have you visited Holland ? I drove without my tardjimani Zaza but with ori matros, Vano and Dato, by car all the way from Tbilsi - 5000 km - to Amsterdam to visit SAIL. We had fun there, but at the same time promoted your husbands country. On my Toidverdroif ship was the Georgian flag.It was recognised by our Prince of Orange, Willem-Alexander, who was sitting in his mothers boat, De Groene Draeck, the green dragon, in the Y-harbour.

Willem Alexander said to me: Is dat de Georgische vlag ? Is that the Georgian flag ?

Later on sunday Queen Beatrix received from us a cabbage from Langedijk, like many other ships. She asked for one, because she also got one cabbage five years ago. The cabbage was thrown by Vano, my Sakartvelo matros. You can see this on you tube if you search for koningin (queen) and kool (cabbage). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMchDgPoAy8A A better movie was made by AT5 Amsterdam TV and SBS 6 TV interviewed us.

The Queen with the foto of the cabbage that she got was published on front page of Telegraaf, Hollands biggest newspaper with daily two million readers. I brought two cabbages to Tbilisi that were all Sail on my boat and one I wanted to give to my embassy representatives Ambassador Langenberg and Heino van Houwelingen, because this year two times they "stoofden mij een kooltje !" How I must translate this, I do not know. But you know what I mean.

One time I was not welcome at the reception of Queen Beatrixs birthday in Radisson,30 april 2010. And when you came there, security distracted my attention, so I did not see you when you entered the hotel.

Second time they refused to give visa to my assistent Zaza Maisuradze, who helps me already one year to find my way in the political and juridical and street labyrinths in Georgia. It was on the day I brought flowers to Gori for Stan Storimans second year after he was killed there, 12 august 2010. It was already second time my embassy refused Zaza a visa !

My embassy is afraid he will stay in Holland and dont return, but he lives here together with his mother in horrible situation in Gldani ! He looks after his mother, who was advocat for many years ! Well, I was very angry at my embassy representatives about this !

Tsadi Tsadi Go Go !!!!

After Sail I visited with my matros Vano and Dato many places in Holland and in september we flew together with Turkish Airlines back to Trabzon and took a bus to Tbilisi. Flying with Airzena is too expensive for us but I also boycot this airline ! Because they could not organise to send my first flower export to Tbilisi, that costedme a lot of money !

So many trucks are always waiting at the border of Sarpi, waiting to enter Georgia.
Why this line is so long, Sandra ? I feel sorry for the drivers who have to wait there for how many days ? Many of them are Turkish trucks and Turkey is Georgias neighbour and very important business investor.

Tell Misha to get rid of this propka as soon as possible ! It is a shame for Georgia, that wants to be the Singapore of the Caucasus ! A Georgia that raves about the freedom of doing business here.

Going with the bus from Turkey through Georgia border is another interesting experience. But at the border the Georgian border gards are friendly and they say all, "Welcome to Georgia !"

Why you have face control there, I dont know. We dont have this at Schiphol airport. Misha got this as a present from the US, Sandra ?

No more banana and puri and cigaretta kalis and katsi on the street Today - saturday 25 september - I walked from Shuamta III Massiv to the metro Varketili and discovered all street vendors have disappeared. I wonder what these people are doing now and how they make some money to survive ? Bread goes up from 60 to 70 tetri (up 16 %). I wonder if the disappeared streetvendors went to vote for mayor and if yes, if they voted for Gigi Ugulava. And if they will do again vote for Ugulava after they had to leave the Tbilisi streets ?

I hear opposition will again start protests and being an opposition specialist I am curious how the protests are next week. And how many people will show up ?

Biggest rose in Tbilisi in metro padwal

It was nice to be on Rustaveli again. I got out at Mishas Tavesupleba Moedani metrostation. Inside there is nice rose but it is imposible to come close to this rose and make a picture of the biggest rose I have seen in Tbilisi.

I can imagine why it is protected because in the underpasses of Freedom Square beautifull Georgian history explanations are destroyed by vandalists. But, I hope I can pass one day the fence in the metro to make a foto of this biggest rose together with me ?

At the parlement fontankas were working and I walked up the stairs. I always check the mitsa ground in which the EU flag is standing. Please, Sandra, ask Misha to put a new EU - flag there, the yellow stars are not so bright anymore. It is time to replace the flag ! The Georgian flags I saw from all political parties on the parliament area have great quality.

Like always, at the parliamant, security comes to me and they can say only one word I understand. TSADI ! It means GO ! TSADI !!!!!

I say to the security, do you speak English ? But almost no security at the Parliament or at the White House, the Tetri Sachli, the big palace Misha built, speaks English ! Every time I hear the word TSADI ! GO !

Sandra, your Misha says everybody must learn English, well let he say TSADI to all his security at parlement and residency to go to LEARN ENGLISH !!!!!!!!!!

So security can communicate with tourists and visitors about things and explain eg. where you must go to visit the parliament inside like we can do in Den Haag, to see our famous Holland democracy working.

I only was inside once when the President of the Dutch parliament Weisglass visited the parliament in Tbilisi. But in Holland we can visit our parliament when they are active. Ofcourse if you behave normal and I dont disturb the democratic processes. I dont think the Georgian parlement has this transparency. There is too much opposition, and the temperament of the Georgian people is too emotional, I guess ?

I asked Levan Gachechiladze and Konstantin Gamsakurdia if they ever have visited our parliament, but they never did.

I hope, Sandra, that your Misha takes them there as soon as possible and all other opposition leaders that want to improve your Mishas democracy. I can be their guide, I know the way and Julius Vischjager will help me with it.

Anyway, Sandra, walking around downtown Tbilisi, I discovered again new shops and bars in Perovskaya and Charden and other places were closed and disappeared. That is the reality of the market economy, but Georgia and Tbilisi need much more visitors and tourists, so more businesses will survive. And I know Misha is doing his best for this as much as he can !

Pegasus flies from Tbilisi to Istanbul and Europe !

I read today all newspapers and I am happy that Turkish Pegasus starts to fly cheap to Istanbul and European destinations ! But Austrian Airlines stops flights to Tbilisi because of economic reasons. Not enough passengers ? With Austrian Airlines I flew first time to Tbilisi in january 1998 !

By the way, I boycot Airzena as much as possible because in december 2007 they did not bring my first export of flowers - cut and pot - mitsa to Georgia and it cost me a lot of money and they gave me no service or excuses. Talking about flowers, many Georgians say that Sandra is here in Georgia queen in the flower business, but I dont believe this.

I think the people who are in the flower business are using your name and the excellent Dutch flower reputation ? I dont think you need this business and I dont think you have time for it ? The quality of the flowers in Tbilisi is not a real visit card for Holland, sorry to say this to you, Sandra, it can be much better !

Also I read about prisoners who get beaten in jail here. Is one of the sons of President Gamsakurdia who is in jail still in hunger strike ? In june I met a group of worried woman on the stairs of the Parliament area and they were protesting to improve the conditions of political prisoners. Can I visit the prisons here, Sandra ? Can youa ask Misha if it is OK ?

And I read in Georgian Times that there is finally a wine producers association for promoting together Georgian wine and wine history abroad. Please tell them that I have good ideas to do this in Holland and I am specialised in organising unique events for low budget costs with much free publicity. What Georgia needs !

Gouda Holland cheese and Georgian wine tasting in Alkmaar cheese market ? It reminded me of an old idea in 2006 that I wrote to you, but never had a reaction.
Send to the world famous Alkmaar cheesemarket - where Shota Arveladze was succesfull - wines from Georgia and organise a wine tasting there with famous NoordHolland Gouda cheese !

It is great place for it and all Dutch know that in Alkmaar starts the Victory. Why not for Georgian wines ? When AZ Alkmaar became champion because of coaches Louis van Gaal and Shota Arveladze there was no Georgian wine and champagne to celebrate the victory !!!!

I hear you was in Alkmaar a few years ago to visit the Beatles Museum with your sun Eduard and wonder if you ever received my idea about the wine promotion in Alkmaar ?
I was unhappy that you did not think of me to meet me there because I live 30 minutes cycling away from Alkmaar and you could visit the flowerbulb company VWS that
decorated your lecture room in Amsterdam with lilia when you was giving the book presentations in march 2005.

You still have a gift waiting for Tbilisi there, tulip bulbs. You told me to put them in the Botanical Garden Mitsa, but I had not had the chance to do this, because I got involved in a dramatical business cooperation with Giorgi Baindurashvili from Saburtalo, who turned out to be an unreliable business partner for me that destroyed my reputation, misused my contacts, lied to me many times and that still has to pay me back much money.

That is all for now, Sandra, I want go sleep now. I can be very critical about Sakartvelo but I love it here also very much ! I am waiting for a court decision about Baindurashvili, but I hear today that next weeks important things are going to happen so I can finally take my money back ? I have paid enough lesgeld now, learning money.

Georgian wine promotion to new dutch Minister of Justice ?
Talking about court, Liberal VVD parliament member Fred Teeven maybe will be Minister of Justice in Holland and I think I will present him a bottle of Georgian wine,if he gets the job, because he knows me, he lived in Langedijk for some years and when he started his political career, I helped him little bit. Is there any cooperation between Holland and Georgia in the justice ? I have no idea but it would be good.

Georgian wine promotion to new governor of Noord-Holland ?
Talking about wine, the bottle of Georgian wine that I brought to Newspoort newsagency in Hague in 2003-2004 was drunk by Johan Remkes, at that time VVD minister of internal affairs. Well, Remkes just became now Commisaris of the Koningin, Governor, in Noord-Holland. And last, but not least, I hope when the wine Association starts to promote Georgia wine abroad, I hope they also dont forget Borjomi mineral water !

I also saw Maartje van Wegen on dutch TV when I was in Holland and I hear she flies to Tbilisi beginning of oktober to bring classical CDs for the classical radiostation that you started here. When Maartje is here, maybe you can ask her if she can call to the Prince of Orange Willem Alexander and ask him if he comes to visit Georgia one time with Maxima, his wife ?

Our Royal Family was never in Georgia and I think they want come here. But our government will not let them go, I think, because our governement is afraid Russia, our very important trading partner, will not like this ?

Many questions, many answers, many ideas, Sandra, but you said that you are eyes and ears for Misha in january 2004. I hope you can handle this sort of toidverdroif kalashnikov bullets ?

Sakartvelo kaumardjos !

Greetings from Shuamta street, also to Misha and Eduard and Nikoesja, and your parents in Zeeland, that were not willing to help me to bring me in contact with you last year, when I was about to sink down financially and had to sell my house where my son was born.

Sail Amsterdam en Marine

Marcel met Giorgi Isakadze, vice president of www.bag.ge the Business Association of Georgia. In january 1998 Marcel met Isakadze during a conference about renewable energy. Isakadze was at that time part of the staff of President Shevardnadze

Dear Sandra,

I am back in Langedijk now, getting ready for Sail Amsterdam. I left Tbilisi with my Volkswagen Golf on the day it was two years ago Stan Storimans got killed in Gori.

In the morning I drove to the Edelweiss Flowershop from David and Marieke, that I knew from Vaxi flowershop in Nikoladze in Perovskaya.

In Vaxi shop I have brought cut flowers and pot flowers in the beginning of 2008, in january. The first order of flowers that I tried to export to Tbilisi stayed in Holland. Agreements that were made about the shipping to Tbilisi were two times denied by Airzena, so my first export that cost me a few thousand euros, stayed in Holland.

On X-mas eve, the 24th of december, I drove with these flowers to Amsterdam. And I put the flowers at the Anne Frank Monument, next to the Westerkerk on the Prinsengracht and the Rozengracht. Other flowers I putat the Monument of Multatuli, on the Singel and on the Gay Monument in the Keizersgracht. In front of the house of the Mayor of Amsterdam is a monument that reminds us of the slave exports to the USA. Do you know that the house of the mayor was built from the profits of the slave export ? There I also put my first export flowers to georgia.

Marike and David from Edelweiss shop made for us a nice bouquet with white roses and gladioles. I added a small Holland flag from the football times together with a letter in Georgian and English. We drove with the flowers to the square where the Russian bomb exploded two years ago and made many victims.

The letter remembered the victims of the Russian bomb in Gori, especially our RTL cameraman Stan Storimans. And all journalists who are working around the world, informing us what is happening everywhere, to tell the importance of journalism.

Pirveli TV was there and also Imedi, so later I heared compliments of what I did there when I came back to Tbilisi.

Unfortunately my tardjimani translator Zaza Maisuraze was not there with me, like last year. He had to go to our Dutch embassy, to bring extra documents for his visa application. He brought his diplom of the Suchumi University and a reference letter from a German Human Rights Organisation. And also some money transfers.

visum geweigerd !
Zaza was unfortunately again refused a visa. For the second time already ! Oh my god, how angry I was ! The man that is very honest and reliable person and that helped me with many things, got NO VISA !

I wanted to speak with Patrica La Cognata, but she refused to communicate with me. I called to the emergency telefon line of the embassy and spoke with Heino van Houwelingen. He explained me why Zaza did not get a visa. He needed proof of paid work with bank statements, but Zaza did not have this. I found a very helpful man, refugee from Abchasia and unemployed and gave him work and dignity.

But this was not enough. I tried to work in Tbilisi and restart my activities and for this I wanted to show Zaza Hollands way of working, but my country did not want this ! Horrible !

dont sit on the grass

It was all day very hot, about 38 celsius, so I decided to sit on the grass in front of my embassy to let my emotions go and speak with our representative. But there was a sign in Georgian that I was not allowed to sit on the grass. But I felt overwhelmed by the heat and emotions. The security Guram, working for our embassy, called the police, same like last time, and they wanted to take me away from the grass. I said, I am not going, you can lift me up, I want stay on this ground !

Well, very disappointed I left the embassy territory and we drove back to III Massiv.
There I packed my things and we left at 7 o clock for the direction of Holland. With on board Vano and Dato, the sons of Marine Todua. They got a visa very quickly.

Sail and georgian flag on toidverdroif cabbage boat

The drive back to Holland was a long way, but we made it. We arrived on monday at 5 pm. I mmediately I went to my neighbour Pieter de Wit from the shipyard Houdt Moed. I called him one time from Tbilisi to ask him to prepare the Toidverdroif, that had not run for two years already, for Sail Amsterdam. When I came to his house, his answer was: "Marcel, the Toidverdroif is running OK and ready to go to Amsterdam !"
Good service, Pieter, who still works daily with his father, another Piet, who is already 85 years old, to maintain our traditional agriculture ships from the country of the 1000 Islands.

We had a test trip on tuesday afternoon with the Toidverdroif and loaded the boat at night with famous Langedijk cabbage and my Georgian matros Vano and Dato were of great help. And also my friend Jan Sterringa, who organised for us a trailer.

So Sail Amsterdam was going to have one participant carrying the Sakartvelo flag.

Unfortunately, pirveli matros Marine Todua came not with us, same for Nidas, pirveli stuurman from Toidverdroif. His mother Aida said Nidas had to prepare for his new school in Delft, but I think the best preparation for his new schoolyear is participating in Sail Amsterdam with the famous Toidverdroif boat from your father ?

But we will do our best to have the Georgian flag be shown to the nautical world during Sail Amsterdam.

Sandra, I hope one day also Georgia officially participates in Sail Amsterdam. I brought the Sud 1 from Lithuania in 20005 to Amsterdam Sail and this was the first time Lithuania participated in Sail Amsterdam. Now it is Georgias turn ...

You have Zeeland blood and Zeeland has a lot of water and sailing activities so I hope one day Georgia is also part of the international Sail world, because Georgia has harbours along the Black Sea.

The Toidverdroif went with Georgian flag and two Georgian matros, Vano and Dato Eloshvili, and with 800 kg cabbage from Langedijk to IJmuiden on wednesday 18 august. On thursday 19 august we gained a lot of attention and applaus from all the spectators and boats on the great Noordzeekanaal.

Vano and Dato enjoyed this attention very much and were proud matros, representing Georgia in the Sail In to Amsterdam.

Cabbage for Queen Beatrix presented by Vano Eloshvili from Tbilisi

Highlight of the visit was the presentation of a cabbage to our Queen Beatrix on board of the Groene Draeck, the Green Dragon, on sunday 22 august. Already in the morning when we passed the Groene Draeck, the boat of the Queen, the Prince of Orange Willem Alexander asked me if the flag that was on our boat was the Georgian flag. So he recognised the Georgian flag!

Vano later threw the cabbage in the Y harbour, where all the tallships were, to one of the crew of Beatrix and he gave the cabbage to our Queen and she was very happy with it.

In the Telegraaf, Hollands biggest newspaper, was a photo on the front page showing the happy Queen Beatrix with her cabbage. Also SBS 6 Shownews interviewed Vano and me and in evening of 23 august this was on SBS 6 TV with nice video from Vano who threw the cabbage. On youtube you can see a video that was made by a friend of my neighbour Pieter de Wit, the nineth generation of shipbuilders and maintainers from the family De Wit, from the shipyard "Houdt Moed !". See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMchDgPoAy8 or put in the two words koningin (queen) and kool (cabbage) when you are on the youtube site.

sauer feeling from dutch embassy in Tbilisi

How sauer it feels at the same time that tardjimani translator Zaza Maisuradze was refused a visa to travel to the Netherlands and could not be with us and how terrible it feels that my embassy in Tbilisi did not allow me to visit the reception of the Queens Birthday in Radison Hotel on 30 april 2010 this year in Tbilisi.

We all wondered what the Queen will do with our cabbage but it is the second time she got a cabbage during Sail Amsterdam !

Greetings, Marcel Maria Brandsma, still waiting for many answers from Tbilisi

Holland wins final today but who wins in Georgia ? Marcel seems to loose many things but .... luctor et emergo !

Sunday 11 july 2010, Tbilisi Airport, 5 pm

Dear Sandra, Kalbato Saakasvili-Roelofsi,

How are y ? Y was on Imedi TV yesterday, organising a supra in Holland somewhere. Great ! I organised this many times with Marine Todua in Langedijk and Amsterdam.

Sandra, this year we saw each other already three times. I mean, I saw you, but you missed me. It is OK, you are very bussy woman now. First I saw you at Radisson Hotel, when y came to visit the reception of Queen Beatrix. When y came the security from my Holland embassy was coming to me with security from Radisson to make sure I did not come close to you. I saw too late that you was there entering the RADISSON. So I could not even say hello to you.

Metechi Palace 10 june elections night toilet stop

The second time it was at night, you came to Metechi Palace on the 10 th of june to have a toilet break. I was watching Holland news about the elections till 5 am Georgian Time in the morning on my own small Samsung computer and was surprised to see you there.

Also the moment was special, the day the Dutch 2010 parlement election results were presented on Holland NOS TV. I was thinking of the morning of 5 january 2004, the morning you became First Lady and we met shortly also in the same hotel. I am still curious what happened to the Prins Claus Tulip Bulbs from Sint-Pancras, my village, that I brought to your mother in law, the mother of Misha, on Gamsakurdia 33.

These symbolic bulbs must be somewhere in Tbilisi now, and if they have disappeared I bring to you new ones in autumn. But where I can deliver them ?
When I bring something to our Queen Beatrix, it is easy. I take the present and my passport to one of her Palaces and the security takes it after writing down my passport details. I have done this many times.

But when I come to your White House or old house behind parliament, there is always security who speaks not English and they always say "Tsadi !" - go ! - Please tell Misha that at least security from his enormous White House and his Parlement learn English !!!!!!!! To communicate with interested visitors like me. And let them tell visitors "mobsandit", welcome, and never "tsadi" anymore ! So unpolite, in a country where guests are seeing as presents from God.

I am not a terrorist, I am megobari of Sakartvelo, but your Mishas security think not like this.

WK 2006 Roelofs 1 shirt from Hink Megasport Alkmaar

The third time I saw y was in Philharmonia after the game Holland-Paraguay. I was happy to see you still have the shirt with Roelofs 1 on the backside that I brought to you via embassador Elderenbosch in 2006, when we were playing in the World Championsship Soccer in Germany. I had it made in Alkmaar, in the Megastore, from the Langedijk family Hink.

You was close to this shop, because it is opposite the Beatles Museum, that you visited with Eduard two years ago.
I was disappointed that you did not tell me you was in Alkmaar, because Langedijk where I live is only 8 km from Beatles Museum !

But I saw you in Roelofs 1 maika. I thought when you moved to your new Tetri Sachli you probably had so many clothes that you was not able to find it anymore.... But you was on Pirveli TV with it, showing that you also have Holland feelings, great.

Vano Eloshvili, the son of my friend Marine Todua, saw you on Imedi, and I was also there with my own imported Heineken Beer helmet. Sandra, why you dont bring many staphilosperi things to Georgia from Holland ? You have the contacts. And the money...

Our embassy is also doing nothing special about the soccer. I was in Goethe Institute and saw the new German embassador there, a very kind man. I met him in Radisson, on 28 th of april, with his wife. He was just a few days in Tbilisi. He is more friendly than our embassador mr. Langenberg, who refused to meet me and refused me to visit the Queens Birthday 30 april reception, while I send to him photos of the Queen taking from me a Bejo cabbage during Sail Amsterdam 2005 on the Groene Draeck, the Green Dragon, her beautiful Lemster Aak ship.

Prince Willem Alexander was stearing the ship in the waves of the Y.
I did my best to bring many orange things, but they also got stolen from me here in Tbilisi. Your Georgian people think I am Sinterklaas and they can take everything they see from me but this is not what I like.

I already miss one vuzuvuela, one Holland flag and also one orange water gieter, to give plants water, it was stolen from my cafe Toidverdroif in Shuamta, III Massiv.
I tried to shout to you in Philharmonia, but again you did not hear me. It is OK, I know one moment I will meet you and I feel now how you felt when the Dutch Embassy opened here in Tbilisi and they did not give you a job in the economic department. You wrote about it in your book.

I am waiting now for my court case with Baindurashvili from Saburtalo. And I hope they give some result before 12 august, the day I drive to Gori and than on to Langedijk, to be on time for Sail Amsterdam.

I asked your parents last year for help but they did not want to do anything for me. It is OK. But I organised for you nice meeting in Amsterdam in 2005 and you sold 170 books but later your father told me you was not happy with the organisation there.

Why you didnot tell me this ? As a President of the Holland-Georgia Foundation I was first responsible for evereything at that time.
At that time I was working together with Marechi Togonidze, who had all the contacts with the Georgian Embassy in Brussels and I found out in may 2005 that she is not a reliable person at all to work with.

I knew this already in december 2004, my friend Marine Todua warned me for her but I was so stupid not to listen to her. I trusted Marechi because her father has restaurant Aragvi in Mscheta and she was working for Rabobank in Utrecht. But I made big mistake, trusting her.

She took out the website from Holland-Georgia foundation and until today she has not returned some administrative documents.

Marine Todua sees who are liers in Georgia very well but I did not listen to her.

I also not listened to Marine Todua when she warned me for Giorgi Baindurashvili and I was stupid because this man lied to me so many times and he was never home when I came to his house in Saburtalo last years. He used my contacts at VWS Flowerbulbs in Langedijk for organising priglashenia and even gave me a bad name at the embassy.

He must pay me back already since 2006 more than 8000 euros. About this I have contract with Notar and my friend Zaza Maisuradze is now organising all court documents.

Last year I again tried to get my money from Baindurashvili but no result. I had to go home in september and found out that I was in financial problems. My Rabobank did not want to give me mortgage anymore. So I had to sell my house where my son Nidas was born and I also lost the very good friendship with Marine Todua.

This last I really feel horrible about because she showed me around Tbilisi and she brought me in contact with many people, one of them is Rezo Amashukeli, minister of culture in the Shevardnadze time, who wrote the poem Dolorosa. It is the bible story - the road Jezus took when he was sentenced to death in Israel.

Well, my life is here in Georgia also one big dolorosa, so I am a real looser here, I lost many things but as we say also in Zeeland.

Luctor et emergo. I struggle and get up again...

And this is what I am doing now. I fight with the people who lied to me before. Also with Ketevan Tsereteli, she worked with me in Au Pair business since july last year. But she decided to keep all my things and decided to make contracts with Au Pair organisations behind my back. We call this stealing in Holland, but Ketevan goes to church every week and has no regret so far what she has been doing with my contacts and things.

She does not understand that to be succesfull in Au Pair business, you must be honest, trustwothy and reliable to succeed in the long term.

I hear a lot about you, Sandra, I read a lot, but I think you are still an honest and hardworking woman whose fate it was to become husband from Michael Saakasvili.
I admire you but also feel sorry for you because Misha has big ambitions, but he also makes many mistakes and does not say sorry for it. Making mistakes is OK, if you are young, but not be able to say sorry, is a talent Misha should get out of his system as soon as possible.

Enough now, let us hope Holland wins tonight for the first time in History the final and let us hope for Georgia that the same amount of Dutch people who visited Spain for holiday will come to Georgia in the nearest future !

Until we meet in reality I shall keep on writing you letters via this blog, knowing that one day you call me and we meet and talk about why it happened like it happened. It is Gods will and I exept it.

Greetings from the quiet Tbilisi Airport, I drive now back in my 27 year old Golf to have douche in Shuamta and then get to Philharmonia to be with all the guests from Tegeta Motors and with Aliko from Zaandam.

Texel and Georgia

Sandra and Misha and Eduard are visiting Texel Island on 4 may 2005. It is the first time a Georgian President visits Texel. Sandra is already pregnant from her second son Nicholoz, who is born on 21 december 2005. Foto Marcel Brandsma - Toidverdroif

Dear Sandra,

My house in beautiful Langedijk is 10 km from Alkmaar and 40 km from Den Helder. From Den Helder it is 30 minutes by ferry to the lamazi island of Texel. I found out in Mscheta in january 1998 that there was a Georgian war tragedia at Texel during World War II.

In Mscheta there were toasts during the supra about Texel people who helped the Georgian soldiers to survive. This story I did not know. Also I did not know that the biggest battle at the end of World War II was at Texel.

Nidas Johannes Petras Maria Brandsma

So after I visited Tbilisi in 1998 in january two times I went back to Holland to my already 8 months pregant girlfriend Aida Kleivaite from Kleipeda, Lithuania. She gave me a lovely son and so I became father of Nidas, born on 19 th february 1998 in my house.

I returned enthousiastic back from Tbilisi and decided to invite Nugzar Meladze in my house. I showed him all my renewable energy contacts in Holland. He invited his sister from Germany and his friend Zurab Zurabishvili, opera singer from Austria. It was for my friend Aida a very bussy time, she was not so happy with all these Georgian guests in our house.

But we went together to Texel also and visited the Georgian cemetery - Russenkerkhof - on the Hoge Berg close to Den Burg, the capital of Texel. It was more me the first time then and after have visited Texel beveri many times with all my Georgian guests.

Kaha Imnadze

The first girl I met in Moscow in november 1992 when I visited a conference about youth exchange between East and West Europe was Aida Kleivaite. She was sitting at the bar of the cruise ship Rossia and she showed me all Moscow in the weekend before the conference started. Now she is the mother of my son Nidas.

The first Georgian man I met was Kaha Imnadze. He also was on the Rossia cruise ship and he told me a lot about your country Sakartvelo. This was in nov 1992 and in 1993 Kaha called me and said that he was in Den Haag, following a course on diplomatic political relations at Clingendael Political Institute. He visited my village Langedijk, took a boat trip with my ship Toidverdroif in the country of the thousand islands and gave me a black keramic bottle with Georgian brandy.

Kaha was the man who started to renew contacts with Texel and he brought a Georgian football team there. Later he called me from Brussels and said, Marcel, I am now representing Georgia in NATO, that is my job.

Aida and I visited Kaha in Brussels a few times and also met his collegue Teimuraz Gamtsemlidze, who came later to Alkmaar with a young Georgian dance group. Kaha gave me the nickname The Flying Dutchman.

Kahas last job for the government was pirveli spokesman for President Shevarnadze. I saw the opposition protests on Dutch tv in november 2003 and send a fax to Kaha. "Is everything OK there in Tbilisi ?"

He called me after a day and said:"No problem, Marcel, it is all sponsored by American (Soros) money. These demonstrators get paid dollars every day for to be here."

Two days later he lost his job. Misha took over with red roses and Nino Burdjanadze was sent to Maastricht OSCE meeting and Misha became President on 4 january 2004.

Shevardnadze and Texel

Because Shevardnadze was the last Minister of Foreign Affairs of the CCCP or USSR I thought it is a good thing that President Shevarnadze visited Texel.

Because of my good relations with Kaha Imnadze I asked him in 2003 to find out if Shevardnadze was interested to visit Texel. The answer was positive. Kaha said: "Shevardnadze wants to visit Texel, but according to the protocols, your Dutch government must invite him!"

With this information I decided to write a letter to Gerrit Zalm, Minister of Finance in Holland and also responsible for EU-Caucasus financial relations. From his spokesman I found out that he was in Tbilisi a few times.

In october 2003 Mr Zalm wrote me a letter back saying that the political situation in Tbilisi was critical and it was better to wait to invite Shevardnadze to come to Texel. He was right, in november 2003 Misha sent him away with roses.

Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende and Julius Vischjager

I already met Julius Vischjager, chief editor for the Daily Invisible, a weekly dutch small newspaper. He organised for me accreditation to visit Maastricht OSCE because he knew Jaap de Hoop Scheffer personally. Thanks for this, Julius.

I was happy to take fotos there, because Burdjanadze only took tv and radio journalists, no fotographers.

Julius can always ask the final question to the Dutch Prime Minister in his weekly press conference. He already has this right for many decades. So when Shevardnadze had to resign for President, Julius Vischjager asked our Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende: "Is Mister Eduard Shevarnadze still welcome to visit Texel after what happened during Rose Revolution in Tbilisi ?"

Our Prime Minister Balkenende answered:"Texel is a beautiful island and everybody is welcome there !" So Shevardnadze is still welcome there and I think he should visit Texel before he dies.

Wooden Shoes and Langedijk and Krtanisi Residence

So in september last year before I left to Holland via Antalya, I brought a letter to the Residency of Shevardnadze, asking him if he was still interested to visit Texel. But no answer.

So again on 4 th may 2010, exactly 60 years after Georgians start an attack on Texel (april 1945) I brought again a letter to Shevardnadze and this time it was translated in Russian by my friend Svetlana Kniaskova, who lives in Moscow and translates Dutch literature into Russian.

Read her translation Siegfried from Dutch literature writer Harry Mulish from Amsterdam. Siegfried is about fake son of Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun.
I put this letter for Shevarnadze in a traditional dutch wooden shoe, a klomp we call it and delivered it in the morning of 4 may 2010 before I flew back to Amsterdam with Turkish Airlines.

And also I added a personal book from my own library about Texel tragedy, that I wanted to borrow to Shevardnadze to show photos from Texel tragedy. I think it is good if this book from Holland journalist is translated into Russian to tell the story from the Dutch side, because I discovered the Georgian version is a heroic version but it was a dilemma tragedy.

About this tragedy a Texel writer-musician wrote an opera. I visited this writer together with Tata Ivanidze from Vecheri Tbilisi newspaper and my friend Marina Todua from Iberia Times in november 2004.

So even now I hope Shevranadze visits Texel. I heared at his resedency he will visit Berlin in june 2010 because about his life was made a documentary. Berlin is only 600 km to fly to Texel, so lets hope Shevardnadze has the energy also to visit Texel.

Or he finds another suitable occasion, Sandra. What you think ? I was not happy at all with the words Misha spoke about the Texel Georgian Soldiers, words that I found on internet and that I have sent to you via your parents address in Zeeland.
